Andrew C. Kolb

Andrew Kolb advises private and public clients in a variety of business, commercial, state and local tax, real estate, regulatory, and insurance matters.  Andrew’s practice focuses on aiding clients in achieving their goals and solving problems with creative, thoughtful, and cost-effective solutions.  Andrew’s extensive experience in litigation matters gives him the background to help clients avoid disputes when possible and minimize the organizational cost when disputes are unavoidable.

Andrew grew up in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, spending his free time playing sports and exploring the outdoors.  From an early age, Andrew learned the irreplaceable value of honesty, fair dealing, and straight talk from his family, friends, and neighbors.  Andrew moved to Natchitoches to study at Northwestern State University where he earned a degree in journalism in 1999.  Andrew returned to Baton Rouge for law school at the LSU Law Center, serving on the LSU Law Review and graduating in 2002. 

Andrew then spent 15 years working at large, regional law firms, where his practice consisted of representing clients in litigation and regulatory matters in a wide array of industries and matters.   In 2017, Andrew decided to “hang his own shingle” and chart a new course for his law practice.  He soon discovered that his extensive litigation background served him well when assisting clients in transactional matters and as their outside general counsel.  After all, who better to draft a contract than the lawyer who spent years in the courtroom challenging and defending contractual provisions?  Who better to help clients avoid litigation when possible, and then to use litigation strategically when it is the right tool to produce a resolution?

After almost a decade of working solo, Andrew’s practice was at a crossroads: cap the growth and remain solo, or find other like-minded lawyers and build a team to continue growing.  As with many things in life, the obvious answer was hiding in plain sight - his longtime friend and colleague, Robert Blankenship.  Andrew and Robert’s similar styles both emphasize efficient, creative, and resolution-driven legal services, making their partnership a natural fit. 

When he is not helping clients solve problems and accomplish their goals, Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife, Bonnie, and their three children.  He also likes camping, hiking, and bicycling.
